What’s UP TED?
Mapping behavior at the 2013 TED Conference. This project was done while working at Jawbone.
Jawbone had the opportunity to tell the story of its lifestyle-tracking wristband, UP, at the 2013 TED conference. We designed an interactive experience and physical environment where TED attendees learned about themselves and the impact of TED on their behavior by tracking, sharing and observing their patterns through digital and analogue methods.
The UP app created a personalized conference experience that sustained engagement and rewarded action through tailored push notifications, insights and emails.
Participants could celebrate their accomplishments and compare their behavior to the broader TED and UP communities through an interactive wall and live-data screen. The interactive wall was inspired by a feature in the app called the Lifeline, which displayed a user’s activity across time.
We delivered insights and tips back the community though twitter and in the UP app. The best part: Herbie Hanckock signed our wall. Success.
